Thanks to everyone who attended the Family Dinner Night yesterday. We would especially like to thank Communities in Schools site coordinator, Naomi Sponable for organizing the event. We would also like to thank CIS and the Health Department of NW Michigan for their support.

Check out the new PBIS prize display case in the elementary library. Prize donations range from small items for 5 tickets up a family Great Wolf Lodge experience for 100 tickets.


The Student Council and NHS used the proceeds from the penny drive pie in the face competition to purchase over $50 in wrapping paper supplies to use for the elementary’s Toys for Tots donation. Thank you to all who participated!

Clayton Faivor won a grant from Great Lakes Energy worth over 1,800 dollars. He was able to purchase many STEM engineering design kits from Flinn Scientific and multiple scientific calculator sets. Thank you Great Lakes Energy for your support!


Last week ECS Elementary engaged in a "penny war" to benefit Communities in Schools. All told the students raised over $700, earning rewards including extra recess, Mr. Barry shaving, Mrs. Gee being silent, Mrs. Kiteley dying her hair, and today Mrs. Griffin was taped to a wall!

The Cybertronic Lancers attended Petoskey's Robocon on Saturday to learn about different aspects of First Robotics. Ellsworth students Stephen Paalman, Sadie Esch-Laurent, and Robert Groenink presented a session of robotics engineering design.

The EHS Giving Tree is located in the gym lobby. Please take an item from the tree to purchase and bring back to the tree by December 18 to be donated to the Moms and Tots Center.


Lilly Sundstrom and Calista Hoeksema were recognized at the Antrim Conservation District's 75th anniversary annual meeting for winning the essay contest. Calista read her essay about purple loosestrife aloud at the meeting.


ECS Update: Make plans to attend the ECS Middle/High School Christmas Band Concert at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10 in the high school gym.


ECS Update: ECS Youth Basketball begins this coming Saturday, December 7 from 10:00-12:00 in the high school gym. Open to all boys and girls in grades 3-6.
